Constructed of bronze with multi colored enamels, consisting of an elongated Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with white enameled arms, bearing a central bronze disc overlaid by a black enameled depiction of the Iron Cross, within a ring of white enamel bearing a gilt inscription of DEUTSCHE EHRENLEGION
